Australia were ripped to pieces as rampant Germany smashed four goals past them without reply in a Group D tie in Durban Sunday.
The 4-0 score line could have been worse as Lukas Podolski, Miroslav Klose, Thomas Muller and Cacau did the damage for Germany.
Australia almost opened the scores themselves, could easily have been given a penalty for a clear handball, and suffered harsh treatment from the referee when Tim Cahill was sent off after 56 minutes for a simple clumsy tackle.
Germany now top Group D ahead of Ghana, who beat Serbia 1-0 earlier.
